Yes. This course takes you through the entire process of creating a paisley design.  From sourcing inspiration, drawing your motifs, mixing your gouache and painting each hue in order.  Then we show you how to digitize your art and the process of cutting and pasting it into a final all-over fabric design.  At the end of this course you will have a beautiful design ready to put out into the world.

We walk you thru step by step, so even if you're new to painting, this course is achievable for you. You should have a solid grasp of Photoshop; this course isn't suited for beginners who might get frustrated and feel like tossing their computer out the window. If that's the case, check out our Beginners Course for Surface Designers instead. If you have a good understanding of Photoshop layers and tools, you're good to go.

PART 1:

• a variety of paintbrushes, 1x small 1x mid 1 x large (and an old brush for mixing your colours)
• one or two water jars
• good quality smooth paper
• 9-10 gouache tube paints. We recommend some light tones, mid tones and dark tones

PART 2:

• A computer with Photoshop installed.
• A Wacom tablet and stylius
• A scanner is helpful but you can outsource your scanning just as easily.
